The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. -1 Corinthians 12:12
If you are con in sex marriage then we are pro. We cannot be neutral. We cannot be 0 between -1 and +1.
When my classmates interrogate me about the current issue. “Ganyan ba talaga ang mga kristiano?” they were referring in Manny Pacquiao statement, “People are worse than animals.” I really don’t know what to say. I can’t defend him, I can’t defend Him.
I myself when I heard it I was like, “Grabe naman sya. Ang tactless nya.” But when I saw the whole clip including,“But I’m not condemning them. Just the marriage, the committing sin against God.”I have two realizations: first, I judged him with all of my mind. Second, I began to see how the media can manipulate us to the point that we Christians are blinded.
If we are wise we should know that the Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. It is painful to others because it is like a double-edged sword, it contrast our emotion, our personality and own will. But somewhere down the road, the Truth will set us free.
Day passed I see a post from a Christian artist, “Then neither do I condemn you,”. I can’t hide my disappointments. I begin to weep. How can she disregard the whole context? “Go now and leave your life of sin.” -John 8:11
The first statement magnifies God’s love towards all. But we often neglect the second statement which gives me an impression great degree of tolerance is not love at all. If we allow sin to be manifested in the life of the people we loved, then our love towards the community is polluted and rotten.
Before God created the world and human, He is who He was. He is a Holy God. Holiness is important Moral Attribute of God that being transferred to human when He breathe us life. So basically morality must be present in us. In Isaiah 6:3 “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” The Law of Much Mention indicates how important that we recognize His Holiness. That’s why Jesus never missed to say, “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
Jesus showed compassion but never forget instruction to the adulteress woman in the context of John 8. Love includes correction. Discipline leaves scars but not all scar is ugly. Probably the reason why Jesus carried marks in his hands and feet after his resurrection is because those are the marks that He loves the world.
God hates sin. The reason why we feel the weight of condemnation is because of the sin imputed on us through our ancestors. God already judged the people through floods long time ago. But He loves us so He saved Noah and the human race goes on. However because of He is Holy, the out cried of the Lord against Sodom and Gomorrah was great so He destroyed it. Are you getting this? If practicing wickedness pleases God then there’s no reason for destruction.
God’s plan in every Filipino is to destroy our sins. He condemns sins in us. He rebuked the sin of Adulteress woman not the woman herself. He removed her guilt and took hold on upon Himself. That’s the Message of the Cross. God’s love is freely given in sinners and saints alike. But we cannot take both sin and God’s love to be in our hearts. We must strongly reject the other and tightly embrace the other.
Holiness can never be separated in love. We must promote pure and spotless love. While the world has its own definition of love, Christian must cling to God’s own definition, it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. (1 Corinthians 13:6)
Last night, God reminded me the time when, “The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.” (Genesis 5:5-6)
In other version, His heart was filled in pain. We offended God due to the sins of our Government, Family, Media, Church and many other more. Now that we had seen sins in God’s own eyes, we must attach the urgency of intercession in our daily lives. Our battle is not in this world but against the principality in the heavenly realm in our country.
